Being a living donor

What is a living donor?

Being a living donor means you choose to give 1 of your 2 kidneys to a person whose kidneys no longer work. It can save someone’s life.

Don’t I need 2 kidneys to live?

No! People with only 1 kidney can live long, healthy lives.
